Is C9 Jumping Hour Mark 11 MK11 any Better Thank MK1?

After the great success of the C9 Jumping Hour Mark I, the Mark 11 has been further refined by the German designer Johannes Jahnke. The designer himself said that C9 Jumping Hour MK11 Limited Edition is the most precise jumping hour watch which has ever been produced in the world. Christopher Ward have shown their dedication to continuous improvement by perfectly aligning the minute hands and the hour dial in this remarkable timepiece.black leather front view

This version has been definitely designed for the purist.  The design has been inspired by the C900 Single Pusher Chronograph which is subtle, crisps and aesthetic.

This is a limited edition of 250 pieces which are assembled in the company’s workshop in Beil, Switzerland. Each watch comes with a letter of authenticity from the Johannes.

What are people saying about it?

 Aesthetics and look

Most people think that it is more beautiful than MK1. The dial is more pleasing to eye than Mark 1. The sticker of the logo in Mark 1 was not very much appreciated by fans. Although, some people still reacted why the same case of C9 has been used, other supported it that a different case would not have made a big difference but kept the cost considerably down.

back viewThe dial is a mix of Arabic and Roman numerals which received a kind of mixed response from customers. Some said it contributed to the overall beauty and aesthetics, other preferred the older C9 MK 1 because that was different and unique. The 15, 30, 45 are set to balance out, may be, the jumping hour window.

The Mark 1 triangle starting at the middle of the dial and leading to the Jumping Hour is far more attractive than the very minimalist design of Mark11. However, the ugly sticky logo in Mark I looses its battle against the more elegant writing on MK 11.

 Size of the Dial

Most people think that 43 mm is too big. They think 38 is less and 43 is more. The ideal dial could have been 40 mm. Some people compared it with Baume and Mercier jumping hour which is a great homage to CW. The C9 MK11 costs £1250 while the compared Baume & Mercier is £15000.00
